Jacob Zimmer

Jake joined Traverse House in April 2016 and the Advisory Board in 2017. He grew up in a city south of Lansing called Eaton Rapids. As a budding young athlete when he was 16 he had an opportunity to try out for a German Bundesliga Soccer Team in Germany

Jake is a staff colleague in the Culinary Unit and leads exercise and weight training to meet the needs of the health and wellness of the members. He graduated from Olivet with a BA degree in exercise science. Jake has experience in the health field/human services area having worked in AFC homes, assisted living home and Munson Hospital.

Jake has attended the National Clubhouse Conference in Washington DC and has attended various conferences throughout the state about mental health. He has also participated in a Walk - A - Mile event in Lansing where our state representatives and state senators discuss current issues involving mental illness and their legislative support. Jake completed two week comprehensive clubhouse training at Gateway Clubhouse in Greenville, SC
